About WCES

Editor Anne Correia holds two English degrees: a bachelor's degree (with distinction) from Malaspina University-College (2004), and a master's degree from the University of Victoria (2007). She has worked on multimedia projects since 2003, including academic editing, graphics and layout, web design/html programming and content editing, and professional writing. Her editing experience includes both academic and commercial endeavours.

Based in Chemainus, British Columbia, Anne continues to edit academic books and articles for UVic faculty and students in several disciplines. She has done volunteer editing and professional writing for a local community theatre group (press releases, rack cards, fundraising letters and other publicity documents). In addition to strong communication skills and a clear understanding of the English language, Anne has knowledge of academic formatting styles such as MLA (Modern Languages Association), CMS (Chicago Manual of Style) and APA (American Psychological Association).

Editing services range from proofreading for typos, spelling, punctuation and grammar, to copy-editing of sentence structure for coherence and cutting of text to fit publishers' requirements, to more in-depth content work including re-writing, research and confirmation of facts, and other re-working of text as needed.

References are available upon request. I am happy to travel anywhere on southern Vancouver Island to meet with potential and existing clients. I am available for phone interviews and consultations. I believe that a good editor is the key to great communication. Say what you mean to say. Contact Anne at typo@shaw.ca.
